ODC publishes new data on Cambodia’s Indigenous communities

Open Development Cambodia (ODC) has published a new online resource detailing Cambodia’s indigenous communities and their land in both Khmer and English. Together with the website’s map explorer tool, the profile page aims to provide the most up-to-date information on the country’s indigenous communities and communal land, and presents a clear picture using data visualizations. The Indigenous Communities (IC) profile page aims to illuminate the present status of indigenous communities and their range of land rights. ODC highlights a total of 11 indigenous communities that were officially granted communal land titles by the end of 2015. In total, the registered communal lands have a stretch of 7,792.47 hectares, with locations in three provinces (Mondulkiri, Ratanakiri and Kratie).

The profile page is complete with a Registered Communal Lands map that allows the users to apply several layers – including Economic Land Concessions, Mining Licenses, Hydropower and Natural Protected Areas on ODC’s map explorer tool so that users can analyze recent development trends by overlaying the concessions and protected area layers on the registered communal land map.https://cambodia.opendevelopmentmekong.net/map-explorer/
